EHang and Reignwood Forge Landmark Partnership to Pioneer Integrated Low-Altitude Ecosystem

by Keerthana

In a significant move for the aviation sector, EHang Holdings Limited, a global leader in urban air mobility (UAM), has entered a strategic partnership with Reignwood Aviation Group. This collaboration is designed to create a new global benchmark by seamlessly integrating traditional general aviation with next-generation electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, all under the framework of China’s national low-altitude economy strategy.

The partnership will be guided by a philosophy of technology empowerment and scenario-driven innovation. Reignwood Aviation plans to initiate large-scale deployment of EHang’s eVTOLs, beginning at its operational hubs in key cultural and tourism destinations. The initial focus will be on consumer-facing applications like low-altitude tourism experiences and related ground services. This foundation is expected to be the first step in a broader expansion into comprehensive urban air mobility, aiming to build a three-dimensional transportation network for cities.

To support this vision, the two companies will jointly develop integrated low-altitude service hubs. These facilities will provide essential services such as flight demonstrations, takeoff and landing operations, energy supply, and maintenance. A key component of the infrastructure will be a jointly launched digital fleet management platform, designed to manage the future demands of high-density eVTOL flights. Furthermore, leveraging Reignwood’s extensive aviation expertise, the partners will establish a “Reignwood – EHang Flight Training Center” to cultivate certified talent for the growing sector.

The collaboration also has a strong international dimension. EHang and Reignwood will work to promote local airworthiness certification and deploy the EH216-S model in core ASEAN tourist areas, including Bangkok and Phuket. This initiative aims to export China’s successful low-altitude economic model to Southeast Asia, fostering the development of regional UAM ecosystems.

Gang Zheng, Chairman of Reignwood Aviation, highlighted that the partnership aligns with the company’s intelligent transformation and praised EHang’s disruptive technology and leadership, particularly its groundbreaking pilotless airworthiness certification.

Echoing this sentiment, Zhao Wang, Chief Operating Officer of EHang, stated that Reignwood’s operational experience and infrastructure would be instrumental in accelerating the commercial scale-up of the EH216-S, expressing excitement about building a leading operational model from China for the world.
