Tell us about your experience in the field of Drones and what were your fields of expertise before venturing into Drones?
We had a manufacturing unit – CNC/amada job shop for furniture/ components/ precision engineering for over 25years, after which I moved my operations to Dubai,
We have a couple of restaurants and an Online delivery app HAI Foodie, the research for developing delivery drones for food & Medicine started during the corona time 2020, we were delivering parcels only to customers, we started exploring the possibility for a drone delivery, China was the only country then shipping drones and components to India, after a thorough study we arrived at a conclusion, all drones look the same, just the performance varies, we wanted to design and develop indeginiously Make in India drone and for the rest of the world. So the journey thus began….
What are the products currently offering /developed by Tamilan & its specifications?
We are launching 30” & 36” foldable propellers injection moulded with P6 CF 40% carbon fibre from Japan, the entire drone is Injection moulded, moulds weighing 15 Tons to 6 Tons each, it is in the CNC machining stage, Drone shells will be launched in the next 6-8 Months.P6CF40% Drone shells have gone through CAE/CFD (ansys fluent) ALTAIR Hyper mesh analysis in a Japan based company, we have all successful proper documented results of the drone shell analysis, performance from minus 20 degree to plus 65 degree, with proper UV protection, Defence drones, Delivery drones, Agriculture drones, mapping drones, surveillance drones etc over 45 use case scenarios. Just one drone.. 300Kg heavy lift Drone coaxial helicopter engine from ROTAX Austria Range 150 to 250 KM only for logistics purpose.( No weaponizing ) as we have an EUC Signed.
What do you see as the biggest opportunities in Indian/Global Drone Industry for your Drone & other Products?
We are looking at the world as our market and to have distribution in over 100 countries is our target road map. We mainly focus on Defence drones, Delivery drones, Agriculture drones, mapping drones, surveillance drones, firefighting drones, advertising drones with two32” inch screens, USV unmanned remote controlled vehicles/land /sea for over as radius of 150Km etc is our vision, ATV with tracks fully remote controlled with camera/sensors/Lidar etcwith Qualcomm RB 5 AI platform, used for surveillance/combat/ambulance for soldier recovery from hostile area.
Which are the regions Tamilan currently focusing on and what will be their contribution in your overall growth?
We TAMILAN’s hail from the land of the Oldest language in the WORLD, Hence For TAMILAN The Drone: world is the Region, as we spoke first, as the drone is indeginiously designed & developed in India, with design inputs from a RED DOT award winning designer from Hongkong, TAMILAN will participate in all major Defense & Agriculture expos across the world, we will have distributors in over 100 countries and many retailers/service support across each country, having a Holistic approach to make the product successful. With AWS amazon cloud platform Drones will up in a minute, that’s all it takes in all countries where AWS cloud is available.
So far how much you have invested in product development & manufacturing facility?
We have invested around 4cr in TAMILAN The Drone, our project was approved by TIDCO & SIPCOT, we have been allotted 2.1 acer of prime land at vallam aerospace park Sriperumbudur Chennai TN, we have purchased the land and the Drone/USV land & sea, manufacturing plant 60,000 sqft construction will commence in 2024, complete with in 6-8 months.
Can you share us few details related to Fund raising & percentage stake you are offering in the company & utilization of funds?
We are looking at a VC funding of 30Crores for a 26% stake of the company, the Plant is around 12 crores, Drone Molds are around 4.5 crores, machinery for UAV BLDC lines, Manufacturing 6 crores, TYTO Robotics & R&D lab 3 crores, for all parts proper testing facility in house. 4.5 crores for working capital/marketing/participating in Defense/surveillance & agricultural expos all over the world.
In next 3-5 years what will be the valuation of your Company Tamilan?
TAMILAN the drone with a continuous production conveyor line, injection molded process with 2000Ton UBE or HAITIAN injection molding machines, every 3 minutes we can have a drone shell out, with annual production capacity on a single shift of over 50,000 drones @ modest global price 15,000$ per unit = 75, 00, 00,000/-$ this will be the revenue x 20 X is our Pitch for valuation. (Production can double on three shifts).
Why should someone invest in your company over other drone Companies? Can you share the highlights of your products and its uniqueness?
Indeginiously designed drone……daringly different to make Indian drone industry proud, well designed product for the future. Product for the world.
One Drone several avatars : This is our USP, scalability is a major issue in Indian Drone industry, as drones today are all fabricated by manual process using CF tubes etc. all you see is 4 tubes or 6 tubes. With this you cannot go to any international defense expo and display proudly, because no difference between us and the Chinese products.
all the above mentioned use cases the Drone is the same, based on use case scenario, all you have to do is swap the Motors, three different capacity we offer, two types of landing gear aluminum(agriculture) & CF40% for the rest , we offer 28”,30”& 36” propellers all for the same drone. Highly versatile and modular by design, easily adaptable from defense to Agriculture by just changing gadgets. Fool proof 2G to 5G -GPS-GNSS-NAVIC (Indian sat) 700MHz to 3600MHz frequencies our communication module can latch on and flip to best latency in 5 seconds, thus by addressing the BVLOS issues quite well, Tech/software from Israel, embedded sim technology(anti-theft), All our software’s for mapping PIX4D/Drone delivery software etc.. will be on cloud, all drones trackable at all times via Amazon AWS Drone cloud, my drones will be sold serviced and tracked in any country where AWS services are available. Hence we will sell our drones in over 100 countries. Have all data/customer service in order. We are also in talks with airtel/BSNL to create a 5G Sky grid for drones across India and LOC, where connectivity is a major challenge. Roads in the sky for drone’s safe travel, as we will know the latency communication levels/Tower locations when in collaboration with Airtel/BSNL.
